The Commitee
Stephen Johnstone

Chairman

I have been a committee member since 2014, in 2015 I was elected as Vice-Chair, fast forward to 2018 and I am now the elected Chair. I became involved originally as my daughters dance school competed at the Festival and I wanted to help and support the Festival as the committee was only small. My responsibilities include First Aid, Health & Safety as well as being the Festival's Fire Marshal and designated Data Protection Officer.

Tina Wootton-Porter

Secretary

I have attended PDF for 6 years first and foremost as a ‘Dance Mom’, I began  volunteering at the Festival in 2014 and joined the committee in 2015 in a supportive role; this year will be my first as Secretary looking after entries, running orders and more! Being a ‘Dance Mom’ and Teacher I understand queries from various points of view (which can be helpful at times).

Vicky Jenkins

Safeguarding Lead

I became part of the 2018 committee after volunteering at the Festival for the previous 3 years. As a parent of a dancer who loving performing with her friends at PDF I want to contribute in creating a safe and happy environment. As Safeguarding Lead for PDFA I bring some knowledge and experience from my work background as a NHS Mental Health Occupational Therapist; for almost 30 years and my personal experience as a ‘Dance Mom’ and a WCC Chaperone for many years.

Kate Woodward

Trophy Secretary

This year has seen me join the Festival committee as the ‘Trophy Secretary’ to help and support the current Officers and committee members. I began volunteering a couple of years ago as my daughter competes at the Festival. I will be on hand to sort out queries regarding trophy returns and allocations, whilst also issuing certificates on the day. I look forward to being more involved in the Festival and going forward. I have been a WCC Chaperone for several years and have experience across a variety of areas which I hope will be an advantage to the Festival.

Paul Ray

ICT Co-ordinator

I became part of the 2018 committee after volunteering at the Festival from the previous year.

Previous to that I was an official "Dance Dad" with 3 daughters who all participate in numerous dance festivals.

This year has seen me take on the role of ICT Co-ordinator. Responsible for looking after the online presence of the festival within the official website and the respective social media sites.

This year I will actively be creating media pieces over the 6 day festival. So don't forget to "Smile for the camera".

Neil Wootton-Porter

GCM

I began volunteering at PDF in 2016, as a ‘Dance Dad’ I spent most of my time there watching my two daughters who have competed at PDF since 2012 and soon realised the Festival’s growth and need of committed volunteers. I am a general committee member who is always on hand to help if I can and if I can’t I will find the right person who can.

Jenny Ray

Treasurer

I became part of the 2018 committee after volunteering at the Festival from the previous year.

Previous to that I was an official "Dance Mom" with 3 daughters who all participate in numerous dance festivals.

This year has seen me take on the role of Volunteer Co-ordinator. Responsible for looking after all the appreciative volunteers who come to help us run the festival.

Diane Tandy

GCM

I have been involved in PDF since I became Treasurer and Secretary in 2013 when the previous committee decided they could no longer commit to the running and organising of the Festival due to personal reasons. My daughter Susan (Suzi to those who know her) used to compete at the Festival as a child so I had a personal connection from the off. This year has seen me have to reconsider my commitment myself due to personal circumstances, and I have therefore stepped down from my positions of Treasurer and Secretary and wish the committee members who have been elected all the best. I still want to be involved with the Festival and will continue to support the Festival as a general committee member.

Susan Hickman

GCM

I used to compete at PDF as a child and have many happy memories, therefore when the previous committee decided to wind –up the Festival in 2012 myself and a few others including my mom stepped in to save the Festival. I have been Chair since 2015, however this year I have decided that my change in personal circumstances and having my son saw me resign my position on the committee yet I still want to be involved and therefore will remain on the committee as a general committee member to support the newly elected Officers and our new committee members.
